We stayed in areas such as Disney and want to drive to Key West. Can this be done in one day and what they do for families? If there are no beaches or areas of Key West near Disney?

Is not that Key West has beautiful beaches, more like bricks. So it's not really a place for the family ... more like a town party. Resorts Ft Lauderdale, Clearwater, and Miami are very nice to see. In addition to not a day trip. It takes about 6-7 hours at least. I took it with him.
Key West is a party or to drink .... the city and even if the children there are, I do not think this is a place for each child under 18 years (in my opinion). It is a great place to visit .... especially if you are a drinker! Woo Hoo * * There are many beautiful beaches on the next Disney.

It takes about 4 to 5 hours to get to Key West to Disney. It depends on the design. Clearwater Beach is a great place for families. They have fast boats, which occur in the Gulf of Mexico, and watch the dolphins. Grande Plage, Nice and sandy.
